This is estimated to be a trigger piece, part of a type of crossbow. A crossbow is a bow with a support, which adds stability. The archer extends the string to the catch, aims a target, and pulls the trigger to shoot an arrow. The crossbow excavated in the sea area of the Myeongnyangdaecheop-ro, Jindo-gun, has no trigger (hyeondo), and the sight (mangsan) is the shape of haetae, a legendary creature. Thus it is separated into two as it has no catch.
