This toad-shaped inkstone raises its head, curling its four legs. The skin of the toad is expressed with iron-brown underglaze and slip-technique. Its eyes are distinctly expressed by stroking the pupils with iron-brown underglaze on the eyeball painted with white underglaze. The outlines of the eyes clearly stand out with the surrounding engraved lines. The curved mouth and the legs described with short lines are also engraved. The slightly-sloped plane is not covered with glaze and is surrounded with engraved patterns. of semicircles in several layers. The whole inkstone, except the plane and the ground plane, is covered with glaze evenly and thickly. The glaze is light brown, with some tiny cracks, and some of it flew down to the ground plane. This hollow-inside the inkstone was fired as the ground plane was supported with fireproof clay doughs.
